I just had the best time I had in a long time. I went to Dream Island and got 2 n-zels and 1 n-dai in less than 30 minutes. o.o
Dream Island rocks.
BTW, if anybody has +4 cmomr for sale, whisper me in game. I'm on Dep server.
Ok, my friends already complain about me not updating my blog... what the hell...
Nothing new today, except I would like to send out a special message, on behalf of Munchkin, Timmy, Bald Guy, and me; to a jerk in our classes, a weird Russian guy. This guy likes to ask weird questions and make the teachers look stupid by challenging them till they can't answer coherently. That, in itself, is not too bad if you don't overdo it cuz it does help the other students have a better understanding of the subject material. But this guy... well, he overdoes it by a lot and slows down the whole class' progress. He was also in my statistics class and used to whistle when the teacher is explaining stuff. I think he also tried to hit on a good friend of mine (a girl who owns a bird, a dog, and a hamster) when she was clearly more interested in Bald Guy. In short, this Russian guy is annoying.
So here goes the message:
Will you PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP once in a while? Actually, MORE than once in a while.
And also, happy birthday to my little cousin, Big Watermelon. And congrats for finally graduating from high school (took you long enough!).
I'm pissed.
Just failed my road test for driver's license. I can't believe it. I do well at school exams but I can't even handle a stupid driver's test. I guess this is the reason why I never got laid (and why I probably won't in the future either). When it comes to pen and paper, I have no problem. But when I have to perform stuff physically, my nervous system goes "poof!"
I've got nothing more to hope for in life, except that my credit card arrives sooner in my mailbox so I can take out my frustration in Lineage.
To give you guys an idea of my personality, here's an IM excerpt with a good friend of mine who is preparing for a trip to Japan:
Friend: what do you want me to bring you back>
Me: :-/
Me: Nothing in particular...
Friend: LOL
Friend: How about women?
Me: erm... preferably age 15 to 18. Does it come with sailor uniform?
Me: >.>
<.<
Friend: hahahaah
As you can see... we tend to say VERY VERY WRONG THINGS... This is the result of watching too much anime, I guess...
BTW, I may be starting a NSIS documentation project. The Nullsoft Scriptable Installation System is a really cool installer-compiler system. Its main advantage is the small overhead it creates in the installers. It's powerful, yet it lacks user-friendly documentation. The help file that comes with it is more like a reference than a comprehensive manual. There are tutorials online, but they are unsorted and mostly unrelated to each other so a beginner would have no idea where to start or how to get started quick. I'm trying to write a new set of step-by-step tutorial for NSIS. If you are interested, just drop me a comment for this blog entry.
I think Montreal weather is the ultimate proof that God is evil and that He is playing little games using us like little green army men. I mean, last night it was cool and stuff and rained. We thought "Ok, maybe spring is coming." Today, it frigging snowed like a foot and the damn wind blew the snow all over the place like an ice bukkake storm... I'm serious; I got solid bits of snow all over the face as I walked about 4 blocks to get back home.
No wonder the guy at blorp.com and his friends almost cursed about the weather when they came over for CUSEC 2004. I'm terribly sorry, db; I guess Montreal weather really sucks.
By the way, I figure that my blog entry yesterday about bad teachers uses quite a bit of foul language and is not very EQ'ly... Well, if you are a teacher and happen to have read that entry, please regard that as an expression of all the wrath of frustrated students world-wide.
Good morning everybody,
I had to wake up early to finish off some loooooong assignment. And I probably need to stay up late tonight to do another one too. *sigh*
I'm glad I didn't waste my time going to my database class yesterday. Apparently the teacher got pissed off at some guy for using a laptop in class and other guys for sleeping. I don't know what's wrong with you university teachers, but some of you need to get some points straight:
1. WE, the students, pay your salaries. So WE are the boss, not you.
2. I know damn well that it's not good to sleep or distract other students in class. Know this, however: if students stop listening to you in class, it's not our fault, it's YOURS, for failing to capture our attention. It just goes to show what an incompetent teacher you are. Teaching is not just about reading out the damn PowerPoint slides and grading assignments and exams, you know. It also involves skillful interaction with students so that students willingly listen to you. A lot of teachers out there are PhDs; they know the stuff they are teaching, but they have no clue HOW to teach and also have very low EQ. If you don't like us sleeping in class and such, don't get pissed off. Rather, poke fun at the students who sleep.
3. Have common sense. Here is a list of stupid things that university teachers like to do, but of which I have not observed any case with high school and elementary school teachers, in no particular order:
- PowerPoint slides on projector: sky blue background and FUCKING YELLOW text (especially when it comes to keywords).
What are you trying to do? Play SUN STARE with us? WHO THE FUCK can read yellow text on sky blue background when it's projected?
- Mumbling to oneself without further gestures. This is particularly true of some Computer Science related teachers. They have sit in front of old PDP-8's so long that they think we HUMANS work the same way (i.e. simply input commands, using keyboard, punch cards or whatnot; and the thing will process your commands).
Our ears are not console keyboards, you idiot. ANIMATE your speech. Use concrete objects.
- Password protecting class notes.
What the fuck do you think your class notes are? Harry Potter books? You think anybody would want to steal your class notes? Your stuff is supposed to teach, dude, not to make our lives miserable for no useful purpose.
I strongly suspect that a new domain of study, called Education Engineering (Ed. Eng.), should be founded and all university teachers should be required to take a teaching skill assessment test. Those who fail have to get an Ed. Eng. degree.
For fuck's sake, we undergrads spend 3 years (4 years for Engineering) in university just to get a 10$ piece of paper so that we can MAYBE get a job. We cannot afford having our graduation delayed by some incompetent teacher. When you teach, a lot of young people's future is at stake in your hands, dude. If university education does not require engineering, I don't know what does.
Peace out
